When you are penitent, you have a feeling that you are sorry for the wrong you did. The mind of committing evil will no longer be there, then the Lord will show mercy to you and I. David is a typical example of somebody that showed penitence and forever the sin he committed will not resurface again unlike people wallowing in that sin permanently. He killed Uriah by putting him in a strategical place of war, where the battle was hot. The reason was to be able to take over Bathsheba the beautiful woman. David who supposed to be at the war front as a garrison commander, saw the nakedness of Bathsheba while she was bathing, and asked her to be brought to him. Eventually, Uriah was killed at the war front, objective met. However, double sin was committed (murder and adultery). He finally showed penitence by writing psalm 51. Having discussed this, let’s see the promises attached to the penitent. Psalm 34:18, Jer 3:22, Joel 2:13, Micah 7:18, Luke 5:7, Acts 2:38, 3:19. Out of these references, I shall discuss two while you study others on your own. In psalm 34:18 ” The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit”. In Luke 15:7 Jesus said ” I say unto you likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth more than over ninety nine (99) just persons which need no repentance. Therefore, have you ever showed penitence to God and ask for mercy? Do so now and let God be happy with you. In Acts 3:19, The Bible says repent ye therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the time of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord. My followers on the website, the earlier we come to the Lord, the better for us to enjoy the goodies attached to it. The grace to do so, God will grant unto us ijmn. Ire o.
