Industrial action can be seen as response by the workers to the government’s inability to meet the little standard of workers requirement. In Nigeria for instance, the government sees workers as slaves who are to be denied of their rights. It is a fact that wages is the reward of labour, which the government pretends not to know. Industrial action ought not to be mentioned in any egalitarian Society, because it destroys the laid down target. Every good society must have a standard worthy of emulation, but where industrial action negates this standard, it becomes unpalatable and nauseating. I never experienced industrial action one day in India during my stay there. “Sic utere tuo ut alienum non laedas”. Meaning you are to enjoy that which is yours in such a manner as not to do hurt or injury to others. This is the order of the day in India, the largest democracy in the world. In other words, anything worth giving must be done quickly to avert incessant strike and by so doing, bringing out a standard worthy of emulation. May God help Nigeria to take after good countries ijmn. I do not write to vilify the country, but to ensure good things are done so as to better the lives of the people. After all the glory goes to them after God. Ire o.
