What to learn from David:- David went from the pasture to the palace, from sheepherder to sovereign. His journey to success was accompanied by voices of criticism, negative reports, anger and betrayal. Nevertheless David managed to take the strongholds of life one by one. Nevertheless– Surely, Truly, Certainly, Notwithstanding. There are four voces that will accompany you in life. Only one will encourage you to the spirit of nevertheless. (1) Failers are those who never quite make their goal, for some reason or another. They try to attach their past failures and current excuses to your life. Don’t listen. (2) Figurers have based the outcome of your dream on their own ability and reason. “These told David the fortress is too strong. The hill is too high”. Just say”thanks”, smile and walk away. (When told the giant was too big to fight, David replied that he was too big to miss!) (3) Feelers “This sounds like a good idea, but we just don’t feel right about it. They want you to take part in their fear and try to alter your courage. Every circumstance in life affects their mood so that they are either elated or depressed– Seldom in between. (4) Faithers are few, but potent in their friendship and advice. David was a forerunner in this group. He believed in the Lord and in himself and never contemplated defeat, only God’s timing. Having seen these analysis of nevertheless, we are admonished not to belong to the group of failure, because David didn’t see Goliath as a giant, but a cockroach, who can be easily pressed down to pieces. What is left when the head is already off? Rottenness will begin to take place. People of God, no matter the discouragement of the let down, pursue your objective to the winning side. If David has agreed with his brothers, the fame that was granted him by the women of Israel would not have been, even though it propelled Saul to envy him for slaughter. God did not allow it. He was however used to replace Saul’s kingship. While David had the spirit of God to rule well, Saul got the spirit of madness. Size may not be used to decide victory, but the power of the most high God. Good luck. Be courageous, even in the faces of several odds.
