In 1st kings 17:- This is where God told Elijah to get away and stay at the brook of cerith where he has commanded ravens to bring unto Elijah bread and meat for food. The brook dried up as a result of lack of rain in the land from verse 1-7. In verse 8, Elijah commanded the widow of Zarephath, having obeyed God to go to Zarephath, to go and bring him a morsel of bread which the woman never had, except little flour and a little oil in a jar. She told Elijah she was gathering sticks to cook the last food for her and her son to eat and die. The widow of Zarephath was hopeless. But Elijah told her to do what he told her. Nobody knew what was to happen. The Lord proved his existence when the woman prepared for the man of God first. Elijah said in verse 13-16 make a small cake for me first and bring unto me and after make some for yourself and your son. The prophecy came”Thus said the Lord the bin of flour shall not be used up, nor shall the jar of oil run dry until the day the Lord send rain on Earth. Having obeyed Elijah, the woman, the son and their household ate for many days. Neither the bin of flour nor the jar of oil remain unexhausted according to the word of Elijah. Some Nigerian women are like that, but so negligible. Some will even make mockery of the man of God and lose their miracle. Miracles come with obedience. Are you obedient to genuine men of God? Good luck to you if you are in the category of the widow of Zarephath. A widow has no husband to rely on, but God did the needful to sufficiently feed her and her household for many hi. Take a cue from her and the better. God bless you all.
