The ills of the Nigerian Society

Nigeria,a country that was created well by God. He gave them mineral resources, manpower, educated people, certificated professors, engineers, doctors etcetera. Be that as it may, Nigerian doctors ranked the best in America and perhaps Europe. However, it is painful that leaders wherever they find themselves in Nigeria, see corruption as a normal phenomenon. For instance, the police take instruction from their leaders to mount road block illegitimately with Nigerian uniform to extort money from the citizens, whether robbers, 419ners,killers, thieves and so on. How do the police identify the innocent people from the armed robbers, thieves, killers? They do not even want to know. Before any road block is mounted, the commissioner of police designated must have given them the go ahead. The commissioner of police in each state direct the affairs without the IGP knowing, because you cannot sit at Abuja to know what is going on in each state. Of course, the C. P in each state makes return to the IGP. Therefore, nobody can stop corruption along that line, for it is general. However, the only anti dote to mass corruption in Nigeria is (a)fear of God (b)Good salary (c)using ogun or sango during swearing in ceremony, because they do no longer fear God that is full of mercy (d)Auditors should be allowed to audit account of the ministry and parastatal. If we start to do this, corruption will disappear and things will become normal. Having tried one method for long and it fails outrightly, we should try another one. When we all keep quiet, it means, we agree with the bad system. Jesus never kept quiet over bad system. He makes correction and speaks boldly without waiting for bribe. Jesus said in John 8:12 that he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness. In other words, keeping quiet over bad things, we are walking in darkness. I am a little boy in God’s vineyard.
