Bible passage 11 cor 6:14-18. From where do you come out? Where is your present position or where are you? Who are your companion? Jesus type of children or devil type? Of course, is not deniable you must belong to the group that suits you whether for destruction or safety. Our Bible passage shows that it is wholly compulsory to come out from among them no matter your true service to God. An adage in Yoruba says Aguntan to ba baja rin a jegbe. A sheep that associates with a dog will eat faeces. Here, the Bible talks of compatibility. Vs 14, do not walk together with unbelievers as equals. This talks about genuine believers, they must not walk with unbelievers. It is forbidden, it can’t be done. How can right and wrong be partners? How can light and darkness live together? How can Christ and the devil agree? What does a believer have in common with unbeliever? What about God’s temple and pagan? Can they co exist? No way. Amos 3:3. Characteristics of unbelievers (1) Old things have not passed away 11 cor 5:17 e. g you must obey your parents for longevity Exodus 20:12, murder, adultery, stealing, accusing others falsely should be found in unbelievers only, Exodus 20:13-14. Others are gossip 1 tim 5:13, drunkenness Gen 9:21, backbiting psalm 50:20, 101:5, lukewarm Jer 48:10, occultic power Deut 18:14. You are enjoined to come out from those who practise them. If old things of these nature are still in our lives, then we are unbelievers. What about those who disobey God entirely? Numbers 20:11, even in tithe and offering Mal 3:8-10. You can only associate or join hands with those that are free from these spiritual menace, that is the children of God that are living a sinless lives. Are you one of them? 11 cor 6:16-18 speaks volumes about those who obey God without mingling with unbelievers. Let people say you are proud, let people say you are not a child of God, let people say you are not a pastor, but hold on to vs 16-18. Findings:- (1) when you are with unbelievers, you are in danger of God’s anger (2) You are a friend of the devil (3) you are probable to attack from different source of darkness (4) you will not enjoy the promise of God (5) you are liable to die young (6) God of light will be far away from you because you are not part of Him (7) your request from God may not be granted (8) you are not welcome in the kingdom of God (9) you may not end well (10) God will supervise the devil to deal with you. Therefore, I advise you to steer clear from the stubborn unbelievers, because they may fall you and run away. Prayer points (a) Father give me the grace to obey you only by adhering to the word of God psalm 119:11 (b) Father anything that will entice me to the unbeliever, destroy it. (c) You are the helper of the helpless psalm 46:1 don’t let me be a victim in the hands of the unbelievers (d) Father help me to follow after righteousness Matt 6:33 (e) Father help me to adhere strictly to 11 Cor 6:14-18 so that my request will be granted (f) Father help me not to be a victim of the unbelievers. (g) Father, let me serve you and end well.
