Suffering for God’s Glory

Text 1 pet 4:12-19. Glory means an achievement that is greatly admired, respected or makes you proud. Evidently, the following features come to mind when you follow Christ. (1) Trial is a typology of Christ even though, they are strong when they happen to you as a child of God. (2) Sharing in Christ suffering means joy to you because His glory will come and you will be glad. (3) Reproaching you for Christ sake, you are blessed, because the glory of God rests upon you. (4) On the part of the wicked, he is blasphemed but on your part as a child, he is glorified. (5) It is therefore a sin to suffer as a murderer, a thief, an evil doer or as a busy body in other people’s matter. (6) If anyone suffers as a Christian, let him/her not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in this matter. (7) Judgment is likely to start in the house of God and if it starts with the real children of God, what about those who do not obey gospel? (8) The righteous, if scarcely saved, where will the ungodly and the sinners appear? (9) Those who suffer according to the will of God, commit their souls to him in doing good, as to a faithful creator. Summary (1) Christ suffered therefore believers are to prepare to follow him in suffering. (2) We must discipline ourselves to live for the will of God. (3) Like father like son should be our principle in following Christ. (4) Our shock absorber to follow Christ must be strong without imitating the evil ones. I pray the enablement to do this, the Lord will release unto us ijmn. Stay well and follow Christ pattern. You cannot look sideways at the same time move forward.
